ZipBooks adds transaction types to software, and prepares to generate 1099 forms by end of year
ZipBooks has added three new create buttons to the transactions section. Instead of clicking the green “plus” button to create a new transaction, it now expands out to allow the user to create an expense, deposit, transfer, or custom transaction. The custom option is a carryover from the older transaction flyout menu. If the transaction is an expense, ZipBooks assumes that there will be a credit to an asset account or a liability account. Users can also assign an expense as billable to a client. If the transaction is a deposit, the software assumes that there will be a debit to an asset account. Transfers are called out in the transaction list with directional arrow, and the software has been updated to make where a user enters a destination bank account more clear.
ZipBooks has also added the ability to toggle the transaction creation form between standard and advanced views. Users who want to enter a transaction directly as debits and credits can toggle to the advanced view.
The software company is adding the ability to generate 1099 forms by the end of the year based on whether the expense is tagged as being paid to a contractor. Users can check the 1099 box if they want to use the 1099 reporting feature in the future. For the ZipBooks 1099 form resource guide, click here.
