Moss Adams merges in Rona Consulting Group

Moss Adams LLP, a Top 100 Firm, has expanded its health care consulting practice by combining with Seattle-based Rona Consulting Group, effective Sept. 1.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Moss Adams, based in Seattle, ranked 13th on Accounting Today’s 2017 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $527 million in annual revenue.

The deal is expected to broaden the abilities of Moss Adams’s health care consulting practice, adding the application of lean management principles along with other services.

“We’re pleased to combine with Rona Consulting Group and incorporate their expertise into our services,” said Moss Adams partner Chris Pritchard, who is national practice leader of the firm’s health care consulting practice. “The health care landscape is changing rapidly, and high-quality outcomes have become a top priority for hospitals and health care systems to better serve patients and improve operations. This is a tremendous opportunity to expand our health care expertise with a highly regarded firm and better serve our clients through specialized consulting services.”

Rona Consulting Group was founded in 2007 as a management consultancy serving hospitals, medical suppliers, government organizations and other health care organizations. As part of the deal, 28 professionals, including RCG’s three founding partners and leadership team, will join Moss Adams as a lean consulting practice. RCG is a virtual practice with employees working remotely around the country. The group plans to continue to operate virtually within Moss Adams.

“We’ve known Moss Adams for years, and leadership from both firms knew we’d be better together,” RCG chairman Mike Rona said in a statement. “The vast financial and strategic acumen of Moss Adams will bring considerable value to RCG’s clients undergoing lean transformations.”

The Rona deal is the second MA transaction in recent weeks for Moss Adams. Last month, it signed a letter of intent to combine with Top 100 Firm Hein Associates LLP (see Moss Adams merges in Hein Associates). The Hein merger will expand Moss Adams’ footprint in the West with new offices in Denver and Houston, along with a new oil and gas practice.
