Illinois firm Scheffel Boyle recently held its annual “Scheffel Boyle Shares” project, in which their offices are asked to give back to the communities they serve.
This year’s theme centered around a “Write-Off Hunger” food drive, which ultimately saw over 5,500 food items donated to local pantries and organizations.
“As a local business, it’s our obligation and privilege to serve our community,” stated Dennis Ulrich, managing principal at Scheffel Boyle. “We live where we work and work where we live. Our culture thrives on helping others and supporting those around us. It’s at the foundation of who we are.”
Each participating office relied on different strategies to try and raise the most donations, including a “Cars for Cans” car wash program where the fee for a wash was $5 or 5 food items, and “Cardinals for Cans” days, in which staff could don St. Louis Cardinals gear at work for the same donation fee.
The following organizations will receive donations from this year’s “Scheffel Boyle Shares” project:
- Salvation Army Food Pantry of Jerseyville
- Glen-Ed Food Pantry
- Crisis Food Center
- Carrollton Food Pantry
- Community Care Center
- Highland Area Christian Service Ministry
- Community Hope Center, among others
