Vertex expands integration with Salesforce

Vertex, which provides sales tax automation software, has added new integration capabilities with Salesforce’s sales software platform.

Now, Vertex customers can access Salesforce CRM (customer relationship management), Commerce Cloud, CPQ (configure price quote) and Billing.

Together, Vertex and Salesforce provide an automated sales and use tax calculation solution with tools for the compliance process of producing, filing and remitting returns and payment, which is now available either in the cloud or on-premise.

Vertex’s Address Cleansing Service is also now integrated with Salesforce, which allows Vertex to ensure every transaction is assigned to the proper jurisdiction. As tax rules become increasingly complicated, this could prove a valuable tool.

“As available data about customer preferences makes it possible to create personalized experiences, Salesforce is helping businesses better engage clients and ultimately improve the bottom line,” said Paul Beirnes, managing director of partner development at Vertex, in a statement. “Integrated with Vertex indirect tax solutions, both [business to consumer] and [business to business] organizations can count on reliable sales and use tax calculation and returns, regardless of jurisdiction, allowing them to focus on the reasons they’re using Salesforce to begin with — improving customer relationships and driving business success.”
