AuditFile integrates with Canon scanners

AuditFile, which provides an audit automation platform, has partnered with Canon USA, allowing users to upload scanned documents from certain Canon ImageFormula scanners directly into client engagements.

Canon ImageFormula scanners digitize information and create keyword-searchable documents, which can now be uploaded into AuditFile.

The integration is compatible with the Canon ImageFormula P-215II mobile document scanner, and the DR-C225, DR-C225W, DR-C240, DR-M140, DR-M160 II, and DR-M260 office document scanners. Audit teams in the field can scan and upload client workpapers using Canon ImageFormula P-215II mobile scanners into specific procedures within the related engagement in AuditFile.

The integration aims to improve compliance with policies dictating the proper handling of sensitive financial information.

“Accountants need reliable and compatible scanners to use in their auditing engagements,” said Andy Ikeda, director of the BISG Image Capture Solutions Division, in a statement. “Canon ImageFormula scanners can help them save time and improve efficiency, especially when combined with the AuditFile solution.”

“There have been many discussions about disruptive technologies changing audit processes in the future,” added AuditFile CEO Steven Bong. “Cloud computing is already changing audit and paving the way for those future changes. The ability to connect products, tools, services, and content from different providers from anywhere in the world and make that data instantly accessible to the audit process is transformative in ways both large and small. With Canon’s technology to scan directly from the Cloud Application, Canon has demonstrated the power of the cloud can be extended to seemingly small processes and still have a significant impact.”
