The University of Kentucky announced on Thursday that the school will host the Accounting Career Awareness Program on its campus this summer, July 29 through August 2. The program is designed to introduce high school students to learn more about the profession and its career paths from professionals, university faculty and students.
The program will be presented at the University of Kentucky for the first time by the National Association of Black Accountants and the Gatton College of Business and Economics Von Allmen School of Accountancy. The program also looks to boost the number of underrepresented minority groups in the accounting profession.
ACAP activities include corporate and CPA firm site visits, networking evens with professionals and university accounting faculty members, and interview workshops.
The program is open to high school students at any level, and underrepresented minority students are especially encouraged to apply.
