Social insurance taxes and individual income taxes were the second and third most important sources of tax revenue in the OECD, at approximately 25 percent each. A look at the other facts and figures of how developed countries raise tax revenue through a mix of individual income taxes, corporate income taxes, social insurance taxes, taxes on goods and services and property taxes (“the extent to which an individual country relies on any of these taxes can differ substantially”).
