Hewitt plans 25% hiring jump

Jackson Hewitt Tax Service and its franchisees expect to hire more than 25,000 preparers and associates nationwide between now and the end of the year.

Last year, Hewitt added fewer than 20,000 employees for the tax season, the company said. It expects increased demand for services.

Hewitt claimed strong results for last season, including 4 percent total revenue growth, a 6.6 percent increase in same-store sales and a 1.7 percent jump in same-store returns. The company has some 6,000 offices nationwide, including 3,000 locations in Walmart stores.

“We are more than a tax company. We are looking to hire people who want to make a difference in the lives of others,” said Jackson Hewitt CEO Alan Ferber in a statement. “We encourage applications from all individuals, whether they are starting their career, looking for a position that better suits their lifestyle or looking for a path to ownership.”
