The CPA Consultants’ Alliance made some leadership changes and added new members, including a CPA Next group of up-and-comers.
During a recent meeting, CPACA members approved the following slate of officers:
• Carrie Steffen, President, The Whetstone Group – President of CPACA
• Roman Kepczyk, Director of Consulting, Xcentric – Vice President/Meeting Chair of CPACA
• Gary Adamson, President, Adamson Advisory – Secretary/Treasurer of CPACA
• Angie Grissom, President, The Rainmaker Companies – Membership Chair of CPACA
• Jeff Phillips, CEO of Accountingfly and Going Concern – Deliverables Chair of CPACA
• Bonnie Buol Ruszczyk, Strategic Marketing Consultant, bbr companies – Marketing Chair of CPACA
• Dustin Hostetler, Shareholder, Boomer Consulting – Immediate Past President of CPACA
The group also added a new member, Adelaide Ness, executive vice president of The Rainmaker Companies, and established a CPACA Next group of newer consultants and industry leaders. The CPACA Next group currently includes:

• Renee Moelders, ConvergenceConsulting, LLC
• Sarah Elliott, Intend2Lead
• Michael Wherry, Boomer Consulting
• Brianna Johnson, ConvergenceConsulting, LLC

“The accounting profession is changing at a rapid pace, and those firms that aren’t moving with the times are likely to be left behind,” said Carrie Steffen, president of The Whetstone Group and current president of the CPACA, in a statement. “Our group believes there are trends in the industry that cannot be ignored,” said Steffen. “These include diversity and inclusion, the move from compliance to consulting, the need for more flexible work environments and a move toward value billing. As consultants to the accounting profession, the members of the CPACA are helping our clients embrace these advances and provide as much value to the people and businesses they work with as possible.”
