The Illinois CPA Society’s Women’s Committee and the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants Women’s Initiatives Committee have announced three women as 2018 Women to Watch Award recipients.
Honorees were split into experienced and emerging leader categories. Experienced leaders are recognized for factors including mentoring younger professionals, a commitment to community service, workplace leadership and writing industry literature. Emerging leaders are similarly recognized for leadership, utilization of original workplace initiatives, community service and work with their alma mater.
Women to Watch recipients will be recognized at the Illinois CPA Society’s Women’s Leadership Forum on Oct. 26, 2018.
This year’s winners are as follows:
Experienced Leader:
- Kelly Richmond Pope: Associate professor at DePaul University and founder of Helios Digital Learning, Pope’s research focuses on organizational misconduct, ethics and fraud, and how organizations can solve those challenges. Her organizational misconduct research led to her directing and producing the award-wining documentary All the Queen’s Horses in 2017. Pope was also selected to develop a TED Ed lesson, “How People Rationalize Fraud,” and a TEDx Talk, “Why Do We Hate Whistle-blowers?”
- Jackie Rosenfeldt: Partner, audit services, at Grant Thornton. Rosenfeldt has over 20 years of public accounting experience serving as lead audit partner on numerous mutual funds and benefit plans. Rosenfeldt is also a member of Grant Thornton’s People Experience Leadership Team, participating in the firm’s various business resource groups in Chicago, including Women at Grant Thornton. Rosenfeldt additionally mentors working mothers and supports the Child Appointed Special Advocates, Kane County, previously serving as a board member.
Emerging Leader:
- Roxanne Chow: A senior manager at Ernst Young, Chow specializes in new accounting standard implementations and finance transformation events. She currently serves on the National Leases Team as the market content leader and has been active in EY’s people development programs, including the creation of a networking program. Chow also serves on the associates board for Ladder Up and leads EY volunteer partnership and fundraising efforts. She was selected to serve as one of two deputy co-chairs for EY’s Chicago Community Engagement Committee, promoting EY Chicago’s philanthropic activities.
