Johnson Advisors presents local grade school with $5K check

Las Vegas-based accounting firm Johnson Advisors recently visited local Red Rock Elementary School on June 7 as part of the firm’s annual Fourth of July Card Program.

Each year, the firm partners with a local elementary school in Clark County to support the community’s young people and have them participate in the card program. This year, 3rd, 4th, 5th graders at Red Rock were asked to artistically portray what they think makes America great and “what being an American means to them.” The winning artwork will appear on the cover of the firm’s Fourth of July card, sent to clients, friends, and community members.

“Our firm values the importance, and responsibility, of giving back to our community,” stated tax manager Russell Oberhelman. “As many of us were once students in the Clark County School District, we feel one of the best ways to give back is through education.”

Hundreds of entries were submitted for this year’s theme of “Diversity,” but 5th grader Gabriella Holmes’ art ultimately took home top honors. For her efforts, Johnson Advisors gifted Gabriella with a basket of art supplies, in addition to a $5,000 cash contribution to Red Rock’s general fund.
