Deloitte named to Fortune’s 2018 ‘Change the World’ list

Big Four firm Deloitte was recently named to Fortune magazine’s fourth annual “Change the World” list, which recognizes companies that try to solve larger societal problems through their own business doings.

“The Change the World list recognizes companies that have had a positive social impact through activities that are part of their core business strategy,” Fortune noted on its site. In addition to focusing on companies with yearly revenues of $1 billion or more, Fortune judged companies based on measurable social impact, business results, degree of innovation and corporate integration.

Deloitte was largely honored for its commitment to educating staff members on emerging technology and critical thinking, with Fortune noting that the firm has kept some 280,000 employees “re-skilled” in tech advancements both internally and through its six Deloitte University facilities around the globe. Through Deloitte University initiatives alone, approximately 65,000 staff members per year are trained, marking a $69 million investment in staff education.
